When I met the RCNY team and learned about the what they are trying to accomplish, I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of. I love to work with passionate people who are building a sustainable, environmentally positive model for doing business. The RCNY team is reimagining the way we make compost and closing the loop in the natural food cycle.
I was brought on in the beginning stages of development. RNCY felt it was important to capture the groundwork being laid around their proof-of-concept so that they could demonstrate their vision and introduce the RCNY culture and values.
Throughout the process of the project, I learned a lot about food-waste in the United States and about the state of the world’s soil. It has changed the way I think about and handle my own food waste.
When the video was completed, RCNY CEO Ally Forstmann was ecstatic. In her words, it “[captured] who we are in such a moving, beautiful and compelling way.†She’s been utilizing it to raise interest in the project so that it can be scaled up and replicated. Things are looking exciting for RNCY’s future!
